Hirata’s story is full of real feelings and truth, showing his own childhood experiences. With clear and touching words, he shows that learning is a symbol of freedom for children who live in difficult conditions. Each character — like the smart Lintang and the kind teacher Bu Muslimah — shows courage and determination in an unfair world. What makes this book special is its message for everyone. It teaches us that education is not only a right for the rich but also a strong power that can change people’s lives and end poverty. The Rainbow Troops is a warm and hopeful story about dreams, friendship, and the belief that even in dark times, there is always light.
