顧爾德─音樂史上僅有的音樂現象，1932年生於加拿大多倫多，七歲開始演出，1982年逝於出生地，享年50歲。31歲以後不再公開演出，35年的演奏生涯，成為20紀樂壇最燦爛的一段傳奇。崇拜他的人像是一群忠實的信徒，膜拜他所有的音樂思維，許多人模仿他，而他依舊是顧爾德，音樂史上僅有的音樂現象。曼紐因（Sir Yehudi Menuhin）聲稱他是20世紀最偉大的音樂天才，指揮巨匠塞爾（George Szell）也稱這位怪傑是一位不折不扣的天才。自從1955年在Columbia Masterworks 錄下他傳奇的《郭德堡變奏曲》，成為史上最賣座的鋼琴，持續錄製了約70張左右的專輯。全世界只有他這樣彈琴獨特的魅力與琴技一樣迷人，加拿大視他為國寶，他是全球眾多樂評與偉大音樂家的最愛，世界給了他肯定的喝采，他是顧爾德─永遠的鋼琴怪傑。發行緣起SonyBMG 為紀念顧爾德75週年誕辰同時又是25週年冥誕，將在九月份起，全球同步陸續發行顧爾德聲音及影像作品，向這位鋼琴巨人致敬。首先登場的，就是這套80CD【顧爾德完全典藏紀念大全集】，絕對空前絕後的超值價格，讓樂迷們輕鬆就能一次典藏本世紀最傳奇鋼琴家的所有錄音。
大全集特色
迄今以來最完整的一套顧爾德完全剖析大全集：
完整收錄：自1955年的首張「巴哈：郭德堡變奏曲」錄音，至1984發行的「理查‧史特勞斯：鋼琴作集」（過世後兩年的發行的最末一張錄音）。是唱片公司首度將顧爾德生前完整的78張黑膠錄音原始母帶，全數轉製為復刻版CD發行。
獨家曝光：2張Bonus CD收錄生前最後訪談、最後錄音、親自指揮作品，以及絕版已久之顧爾德生前唯一的電影配樂作品－親自為1972年坎城評審團大獎影片、喬治羅希爾執導（作品：虎豹小霸王、刺激等。）、改編科幻小說大師馮內果的經典名著「第五號屠宰場」的電影原聲帶。
